LITTLE MEN (2016)
11/3/2016 - Little Men (2016) - 6+/10
An introverted and minimalistic realistic expression of the world and 2 boys trying to grow up in it. Resonant in its feel and design, but perhaps a bit narrow in its scope and conclusion.
The tale of these 2 boys, their friendship, and their families is small but fulfilling. The two young actors do a fine job delivering on the memory promises of childhood. The adult actors are a little too undefined and didn't bring enough to the table, which was part of the deficiency of the film. As endearing as the boys relating and growing together, the surrounding tableau is left a bit too muddled and under defined to propel the movie.
Overall, this is a good little film, with a great deal of smart storytelling and a realistic human portrayal. It lacks for depth and completely satisfying resolution, but that is life and it is still worth it's short runtime.
