1/13/2020 - Klaus (2019) - 6+/10

Pretty adorable and worthy addition to the pantheon of holiday features. It uses wit, a fun story, and adult sensibilities without alienating youth to tell a clever and heartfelt tale. The voice talents melted into their roles, which was nice. I love when they can be characters and not voices of famous people behind some animated facade. The animation also looked great, using old school elements in a modern mix.

The creation of the Christmas mythos was kind of ingenious and really grew into itself. It developed and believed in itself, sweeping me up in its mix of whimsy and modern cynicism. A pleasant surprise, both in story and in the film as a whole. It tickled the old heart strings, and those don’t get strummed too often.
