5/9/20 - How To Build A Girl (2020) - 5+/10

Uneven as a whole, with the pacing, plotting and tone. A difficult tale to nail, but it has been done before. What makes it both better and worse is the stellar acting (Feldstein, Allen, and Considine kill it), superb parts of a script, and some genuine laughs - these are some legitimately strong elements that serve as window dressing on an average feature instead of the the beautiful plumage of a rare festooned fowl.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl meets Almost Famous turned into a solid film, highlighting Feldstein’s total ability to carry a feature. It just has a hard time coalescing into a fully in flight bird of prey despite the feathers it has to fly with.
