The whimsy, joviality, and quirk of Edgar Wright mirrors the enigmatic maestros of the Mael brothers for a perfect pairing. This is a flat out fun documentary as we dive deep into the careers of Sparks. Its a fascinating frolic through their careers, covering their discography in detail and their ever evolving essence, with retrospective interviews, archival clips, and cheekily apropos animated dramatic allowances.
I might have liked more interpretation of their influences throughout musical history and maybe a slightly tighter runtime, as it clocks in at almost 2.5 hours. Even with those slight imperfections, it feels near impossible not to soak in the euphoria of the adventure or foment esteem for Sparks talent & triumphs. Would definitely recommend.
