A loose and winding narrative stitched together on the tapestry of humanity, its furtive festerings and follies dreamily witnessed through the darkly grasping eyes of a lonely beleaguered donkey.
Let’s be honest: you might be scared of this film. We all expect BAD THINGS to happen to this donkey; and bad things do, but not to the extent to which it cripples the possibility of enjoyment. It’s more contemplative and empathetically resolute than sad, though that hovers along the path and stabs sharply when it desires.
A collection of garish and gorgeous shots, above (metaphorically and literally) and beyond. But the film’s soul is also found in its captivating nature - the extremely personal proximity with the camera.
